The Puppy Playground is a place where dogs make friends—and so do their people. Throughout the year, we create opportunities for our customers, families, and dogs to spend time together outside of the normal daycare routine. From holiday parties and special events at The Puppy Playground to group outings where we bring our dogs along to baseball games, hockey games, and other local events, there’s always another reason to get together.
These events give our customers a chance to meet the people their dogs play with every day, build friendships, share some laughs, and enjoy being part of a group of people who have one very important thing in common: we love our dogs and want them to be part of our lives.

Meet Brian Schultz
Owner and Operator, The Puppy Playground
A visionary leader with a remarkable journey, Brian Schultz, Owner and Operator of The Puppy Playground, embarked on a transformative path fueled by dedication, courage, and a passion for making a difference.
Brian holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Logistics from Elmhurst University, graduating in 1999. He answered the call to serve and protect by joining the United States Marine Corps, where he served as an Infantry Officer for seven years, from 2000 to 2007. Rising through the ranks, Brian demonstrated unwavering commitment, experiencing the crucible of combat during the Iraq War as a Platoon Commander. He obtained the rank of Captain while commanding a company at the Marine Combat Training Battalion.
Transitioning from military service, Brian ventured into the corporate world, channeling a steadfast work ethic into a successful career as a Commercial Realtor with Callander Commercial in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Seeking further knowledge and expertise, Brian pursued higher education, earning a Master’s degree in Education from Western Michigan University in 2010. He graduated with a perfect 4.0 GPA, receiving numerous scholarships in recognition of his academic excellence. This achievement served as a springboard into his illustrious 11-year tenure in the commercial real estate sector.
Despite his professional success, Brian felt a deeper calling—to create something impactful that
would enrich lives. Fueled by an unwavering belief in the profound connection between humans and their furry companions, he set his sights on creation. Driven by a desire to infuse joy and companionship into the lives of both pets and their owners, Brian made a pivotal decision—to forsake the comforts of a thriving real estate career in pursuit of a dream.
And thus, The Puppy Playground was born—a testament to Brian’s unwavering determination, compassion, and dedication to creating a nurturing space for pets and their humans. Located in Galesburg, Michigan, The Puppy Playground offers a premier dog park, daycare, kennel, grooming, and washing services, providing a haven where the unconditional love of a good dog can be cherished and shared.
Brian resides in Richland, Michigan, where he has lived for the past decade. His journey from Marine Corps officer to business owner in the pet care industry is a testament to his diverse skill set, dedication, and passion for service. When not at The Puppy Playground, Brian enjoys spending time with his family and his own four-legged friends, embracing the rich community and natural beauty of Michigan. His story stands as a testament to the transformative power of passion and purpose, and the profound impact of following one’s heart.
